Privacy Policy

We regard your privacy as important. Information we collect from you, where you choose to provide it to us, enables us to provide you Sphera's BOMcheck Substance Compliance Services, to tailor services to your requirements, and to send you information about services in which you register an interest.

We will not pass this information on to any third party outside of Sphera. Where necessary, we will ask for your consent to process it for this purpose.

Sphera BOMcheck website does not automatically capture or store personal information, other than information that is automatically logged about visitors and which is used to produce statistics about the use of the site. The following types of information are automatically collected and stored about any visit:

  • The Internet domain and Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you access the site;
  • The type of Internet browser and the operating system of the computer you use to access the site;
  • The date and time you visit the site;
  • The pages you visit on the site;
  • If you came to our site from another website, the address of that website;
  • If you came to the site from a search engine, the address of that search engine and the search term you used.

This information is collected by our web server and is only used for system administration and to provide statistics we use to evaluate use of our site.

We do use cookies for collecting user information from the site but these cookies do not collect any personal information.

You will be asked for personal information if you wish to use our services (such as our substance compliance database, or if you make a general enquiry or ask us to contact you). In each case, we will only use the personal information you provide to deliver the services you have told us you wish to use. We will not provide your information to any other organisation.

Your rights as a data subject

At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access – you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.
  • Right of rectification – you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Right to be forgotten – in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.
  • Right to restriction of processing – where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.
  • Right of portability – you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.
  • Right to object – you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.
  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling – you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.
  • Right to judicial review – in the event that Sphera refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason.
  • You have the right to complain as outlined below.

All the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved in the processing of your personal data.

Complaints

In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Sphera (or third parties described above), or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and Sphera's data protection representatives.
